My favourite scene of the film
This is one of those films that I can watch over and over without getting tired of them. Like Devil Wears Prada, Uptown Girls or Amadeus. It doesn't matter how many times I have seen them because I like watching them againg.
It's not that Alfie is a great film, but there's something in it that it's a pleasure to see it. More than a deep film is an aesthetical film. The limo, la Vespa, the scenes at the Chanel boutique with Susan Sarandon, or Sienna dressed with a pink shirt painting a wall blue... totally eye-candy. And well, Jude Law himself is an authentic pleasure.
Sienna Miller is great on this role, she acts perfectly as the supposed perfect girl but with a lot of flaws when you got to meet her. In my opinion, Alfi acts very cruelly when he leaves her, as it was all her fault, when it was his.
I love the example he gives to describe Nikki. He says that when he was a kid he visited a museum with his school, and the sight of a greek goddess statue caught his eye, she was a perfect beauty. But when he continued the visit, he saw the back of the statue and saw all the imperfections the statue had.
I also wanted to know what the words in the ads of the streets of NY mean. If you remember, in some of the scenes you can see words like "Justice" "Pursuit" "Failure". Maybe it has to do something with the meaning of that moment of that film, but I'm not very sure.

Ésta es una de las películas que puedo ver una y otra vez sin llegar a cansarme. Como El diablo viste de Prada, Uptown Girls o Amadeus. No importa las veces que la vea porque no me aburro de ellas.
No es que Alfie sea una peli buenísima, pero tiene algo que hace agradable verla. Más que argumental es una película estética. Con la limusina, la Vespa, la escena de la boutique de Chanel con Susan Sarandon, o Sienna vestida con una camisa rosa pintando una pared de azul... eye-candy totalmente. Y bueno, la visión de Jude Law ya es de por sí un placer.
Sienna Miller está estupenda en este papel, se ve perfectamente cómo era una chica aparentemente perfecta pero con muchos defectos que aparecían una vez conocerla. En mi opinión, Alfie se comporta demasiado cruelmente cuando la deja, porque era por su culpa, no por la de ella, y le hace creer a Nikki que todo era por culpa suya.
Me gusta el ejemplo que pone Alfie para describir a Nikki. Dice que cuando era pequeño fue a un museo de visita cultural con el colegio, y se quedó extasiado ante una escultura de una diosa griega. Era de una belleza perfecta. Pero cuando avanzó para unirse a su clase la miró por detrás y vio que estaba llena de muescas e imperfecciones.

Con lo que me quedé con las ganas fue saber qué querían decir con los carteles que aparecían en las escenas de exterior en las calles de Nueva York, con palabras como "Justice" "Pursuit" "Failure"... yo pienso que expresaban lo que transmitía la escena de ese momento, pero la verdad es que a veces no tenían nada que ver con lo que estaba pasando.
