Blog's 4th Anniversary

That's right. The blog turned four years old a couple of weeks ago. More than 1000 posts, thousands of comments, and the most important, lots of happy moments.

To all of you who read the blog everyday, to those who just found it, this post is dedicated to you (well, every post is actually dedicated to you). Thank you for visiting Miss at la Playa. I hope you keep enjoying the blog for a long time.

To celebrate the anniversary of the blog, I'm posting the images from the book of my favourite photographer, Mario Testino. He's edited several books already, but "Let me in" is, undoubtedly, the one that best defines him. Celebrities like Angelina Jolie (with Ashton Kutcher) opened their home's doors to Mario Testino and let him immortalize their most spontaneous and intimate moments. A real sight into fame, from the positive and artistic eye of the peruvian photographer. You can buy the book online at Amazon for $34 (used). I highly recommend it.

Así es. El blog cumplió cuatro años hace unas semanas. Más de 1000 posts, miles de comentarios, y por encima de todo, muchas alegrías.

A todos los que leéis el blog cada día, y a los que acabáis de llegar, os dedico este post (aunque en realidad, cada post que publico va dedicado a vosotros). Gracias por visitar Miss at la Playa. Espero que sigáis disfrutando del blog durante mucho tiempo más.

Con motivo del cuarto aniversario, hoy publico las imágenes del libro de mi fotógrafo favorito, Mario Testino. Ha editado varios libros con su trabajo, pero "Let me in" es sin duda el que más le define. Celebrities como Angelina Jolie o Demi Moore (con Ashton Kutcher) le abren las puertas a Mario y se dejan fotografiar en las situaciones más espontáneas e íntimas. Un vistazo muy real de la fama, desde la mirada positiva y artística que caracteriza al fotógrafo peruano. El libro se puede comprar en Amazon por $35 (seminuevo). Os lo recomiendo.

BRIGHTER THAN SUNSHINE

Hoy es día de película. Toca recomendaros "El amor es lo que tiene" (A lot like love), con Ashton Kutcher y Amanda Peet. Por supuesto, es una comedia romántica, cómo no. Mi género favorito de película es la comedia, y mejor aún si es romántica.
"El amor es lo que tiene" trata Emily y Oliver, dos jóvenes que se conocen en el aeropuerto, y que coinciden unos días después y acaban siendo amigos. A causa del destino, se vuelven a encontrar un año después. Los planes de Oliver aún no se habían cumplido y la carrera como actriz de Emily no va nada bien. Cuando Emily encuentra en el piso de Oliver una foto enmarcada que ella había hecho con la cámara de Oliver en su primer encuentro (el día del aeropuerto), decide dedicarse a la fotografía, al decirle Oliver que la foto era muy buena.
Bueno, no os cuento nada más, pero realmente os la recomiendo. No es de Oscar, pero se pasa un buen rato con ella. No es la típica americanada.
Te hace reír, y hay una parte en la que los dos están en una fiesta de Fin de Año, y por un momento se separan entre la gente y justo cuando van a dar la medianoche, no se encuentran, y Emily, perdida, se encuentra en medio de toda la gente, que se abraza al finalizar la cuenta atrás, sola y lastimosa, justo llega Oliver y la abraza. Ésa es la mejor parte.
