The Most Stylish New Yorkers

Stylecaster made this fabulous spread featuring some of the most stylish people from New York. You'll find Olivia Palermo, Leigh Lezark, and also the great Waris Ahluwalia (you may remember him from Wes Anderson's movies). I think they chose a good cast (well, they are called "Stylecaster") and the styling is amazing. Lots of different trends, styles and attitudes. From punk to socialite, preppy or boho.

They also interviewed them about their favourite New York spots. Even though Abigail Lorick (designer of Blair Waldorf's mother label in Gossip Girl) doesn't confess where she gets her fabulous clothes (it would have been awesome!), most of them reccomend interesting places to shop, drink, eat and party.

Check the feature here: 50 Most Stylish New Yorkers, by Emily Finkbinder. Photographed by Stefani Pappas.

Here you have my favourite looks.

"Black Swan" in pictures

I saw "Black swan" on Friday and I absolutely adored it. I'm so happy about it, as I was afraid I wouldn't like it because of my high expectations. I thought it would be more obscure and the music wouldn't be very important, but the soundtrack and the dance scenes are astounding. The Tchaikovsky "Swan Lake", interpretted by Clint Mansell for the film, makes you shiver at some points of the film. The playlist is available at Spotify here. The photography direction is remarkable, the use of light, the colour, the multiple reflections of Natalie's character...

Every frame (owned by Natalie Portman, she truly deserves that Oscar) is a work of art. For that reason, I decided to publish a post with the best images from the film. You'll find larger versions of some of the images.

The ball dress

I fell in love with the dress Natalie wears at her presentation scene. It's very Rodarte. I hope she wears Rodarte to the Oscars.

Rodarte
The ballet costumes were designed by the Mulleavy sisters, the designers behind Rodarte. The best choice for this film, the tutus and the ball dress are masterpieces. They deserved an Oscar nomination at least.

Jackets by La Condesa

Marina Conde, also known as "La Condesa", is the designer of the fabulous militar jackets that have conquered all the stylist's hearts, rockstars' and fashionistas'. What started as an adventure on her blog, "El vestidor Conde", has become a powerful label that surprises us every season. The classic models are magnificient, I've been in love with the red jacket since it came out.

Inspired by artists like The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, or Chris Martin from Coldplay, the militar style is renewed in different pieces: capes, vests, frock coats and jackets.

You can buy it at her online store: La Condesa.

---------------
