Rodarte is one of the most valuable labels today. The young Mulleavy sisters, the creators behind Rodarte, enjoy a great appraisal from the star system and the press (that is, Anna Wintour), and everytime an actress or a singer wear one of their designs, there’s no best dressed list that miss it. With a very particular style, Rodarte shows creations that excel themselves every season, but each and every of them are the best ones. Dreamy patterns, fairytale cuts, colour strokes, and details that hide any trace of cheesiness, like studs and spikes, unexpected cuts, or destroyed fabrics (just from the outside).
Wearing a Rodarte dress is not easy, specially the iconic looks, the ones from the first seasons that seemed to magically stay together and could disintegrate at any moment. Keira Knightley and Kirsten Dunst are, undoubtedly, the ones that best wear Rodarte. And Natalie Portman. The Mulleavy designs seem to be made for them. If they don’t have the Rodarte aura, the result is not convincing. Reese Witherspoon looked great at the Oscars wearing Rodarte, but not so much on the premiere of one of her films, just like Emma Watson on the minidress. They don’t wear it naturally.
Keira Knightley is a loyal Rodarte fan, she has worn Rodarte at several premieres and always with great taste. She combines the dresses with the minimum accesories and she looks like she just arrived from Neverland. Even though the comments about her weight are reinforced by these style choices, I give her an A+.

Rodarte es una de las marcas más valiosas de la moda actualmente. Sus jóvenes creadoras, las hermanas Mulleavy, gozan de un gran aceptación por parte del star system y de la prensa (es decir, Anna Wintour), y cada vez que una actriz o una cantante llevan uno de sus diseños, no hay lista de las mejor vestidas que se olvide de incluirla. Con un estilo muy particular, Rodarte lanza a la pasarela cada temporada creaciones que van superándose, pero a la vez, cada colección es la mejor. Patrones de ensueño, telas de cuento, pinceladas de colores, y detalles que contrarrestan cualquier rastro de ñoñería, ya sean pinchos en los tacones Louboutin, cortes donde menos te lo esperas, o tejidos destrozados (aparentemente).
Llevar un vestido de Rodarte no es fácil, sobre todo los looks más icónicos, aquellos de las primeras temporadas que parecían sostenerse por arte de magia y en cualquier momento podían desintegrarse. ¿Las que mejor lo consiguen? Keira Knightley y Kirsten Dunst, sin duda. Y Natalie Portman. Los diseños Mulleavy están hechos para ellas. Si no se tiene el espíritu Rodarte, la combinación no convence. Reese Witherspoon estaba maravillosa en los Oscar, pero no tanto con el minivestido en uno de sus estrenos, igual que Emma Watson. No lo llevan con naturalidad.
Keira Knightley es una de sus fieles, ha lucido Rodarte en varios estrenos y siempre con muy buen gusto. Lo combina con los accesorios justos y parece recién salida del mundo de las hadas. Aunque estas elecciones de vestuario alimenten los comentarios sobre su delgadez, le doy un 10.
