Seguramente que ya sabréis que Portobello Market tiene ahora su propia página web donde puedes comprar artículos que venden en los puestos reales del mercadillo... a mí no me gusta demasiado esa idea, lo bueno de Portobello es ir y mirar a la gente y cómo están organizados los puestecillos, dar vueltas y vueltas para ver si encuentras algo... verlo a través de una pantalla hace que pierda todo el encanto, ¿no os parece?
Pues resulta que me acaban de llamar para decirme que el sábado 21 de junio (dentro de una semana) van a instalar un montón de puestos originales del Portobello Market y Camden Lock en la Plaza de las Ventas, de 12:00 del mediodía a 7:00 de la tarde. (¡Por fin algo que merece la pena en Madrid! Yo también quiero un American Apparel) Esto ya se hizo el año pasado, y tuvo muchísimo éxito, así que Henry Holland (el responsable de todo esto junto a Beefeater, gracias) no ha dudado en repetir. Para que te sientas como en Londres, hay que pagar con libras (hay un banco cerca para cambiar), venden fish and chips, hay que regatear en inglés y hasta se han traído músicos callejeros de Londres.
Imagínate la de cosas que te vas a encontrar... Ropa de la última colección de Henry Holland (irá Agyness Deyn?... no creo), Lamis Khamis, Cyberdog... un auténtico tesoro.

I'm sure that you already know about the new website that Portobello has launched and that sells some of the articles you could find at the real market... I must say that I don't like very much that idea, I mean, the good thing about Portobello is that you can see all the different people, the little shops, walk and walk until you find a hidden treasure... it's not the same through the cold screen of a computer, it loses its bohemian touch.
The thing is that someone just phoned me to tell me that on Saturday 21th (next week) they are installing 40 stalls from the real markets of Portobello and Camden Lock, from 12:00 to 19:00, in La Plaza de las Ventas, in Madrid (at last something worthy in Madrid! I want an American Apparel too!). They did this last year too, and it was so succesfull that Henry Holland (the one behind this great idea, thanks also to Beefeater) has decided to do it again. So you feel in London, they sell fish and chips, you have to pay pounds, they have brought real street musicians from the streets of London, and you have to speak english to the vendors.
Imagine the things you will find... clothes from the last Henry Holland collection, Cyberbog t-shirts, Lamis Khamis... I can't wait!
