Summer Breeze

These weeks I've had a lot of free time for reasons that aren't very interesting, so I promised myself that I would do a lot of things to make the days go faster and also to learn new things. First, I went to a bookshop and bought several kilos of books. Jane Austen classics (Emma and Pride & Prejudice), the bestsellers of vampires by Stephenie Meyer (Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse), the Gossip Girl series (a total of 8 books, and I have just discovered that there are three more, which I bought online inmediately), Franny and Zooey by J.D. Salinger, Romeo & Juliette... and Claudine en Paris by Colette (sounds très chic et parisienne), which I purchased this weekend and can't wait for it to arrive.


I also bought various films, and the first season of The O.C.
I must say that I hadn't thought that I would like these series so much. But I absolutely adore them! I have already seen the first season and when I finished with it I bought the second season... and it keeps getting better!

My favourite character is Seth Cohen, he's so funny and cute... Adam Brody is, in my opinion, the best actor in the series, because Mischa Barton has always the same face of "I'm the victim of everything and I hate my mom and I'm so pretty" and Benjamin McKenzie (who plays Ryan Atwood) also sucked in the first season, it seemed that he couldn't look directly to anyone's eyes and his only face expression was "I'm a victim too, I'm only a boy from Chino who was in the wrong place at the wrong moment, I will never recover from my family disasters". Summer (played by Rachel Bilson) is my second favourite character. She acts very well too, so the Seth + Summer couple is the perfect match! As far as I know, Adam and Rachel are the only ones who are getting main roles in films, while I haven't seen Benjamin in any film, so my guesses are right.
I love how Seth always makes the silliest mistakes and ends up by upsetting Summer.


Talking about style, two fashion style icons come from this show, Mischa Barton and Rachel Bilson. While Mischa was under Rachel Zoe's spell, I adored every outfit she wore. From the giant sized sunglasses to the thin sandals. It seemed she couldn't make any mistake while choosing -I mean, just taking- the clothes she was wearing. She used to shine at every event she attended.
But now... she must hire Rachel again! (or if she -Rachel- was that crazy woman who used to give illegal pills to lose weight to his clients, Mischa should just hire a better stylist!)

In the meantime, I am loving Rachel Bilson's style. She's less boho and she wears elegant clothes that make her look taller than she really is. That is intelligence, my readers!. I'm making a collage with her greatest hits which I'm planning to post next week.

For now, let's enjoy this fabulous editorial that appeared in Nylon March 2008.
She looks better than ever and the clothes fit her so well, although I'm already tired of seeing the same outfits in every editorial (see the Luella dress, the miu miu skirt, the Prada shirt...)

Estas semanas he tenido mucho tiempo libre por razones que no son nada interesantes, pero me prometí a mí misma que haría un montón de cosas para que los días pasaran rápido pero también para aprovechar el tiempo y aprender cosas nuevas. Primero, me fui a una librería y me compré varios kilos de libros. Los clásicos de Jane Austen (Emma y Orgullo y Prejuicio), los bestsellers de vampiros de Stephenie Meyer (Crepúsculo, Luna Nueva y Eclipse), todos los libros de Gossip Girl (en total son 8, y ayer descubrí que hay tres más, los cuales me he comprado inmediatamente), Franny y Zooey de J.D. Salinger, Romeo y Julieta... y Claudine en Paris de Colette (suena très chic et parisienne), que me compré ayer por internet y no puedo esperar más a que me llegue.

También me compré varias películas y la primera temporada de O.C
Debo decir que nunca pensé que me fuera a gustar tanto esta serie, pero me encantan!. Ya he visto la primera temporada, y en cuanto acabé me compré la segunda... y cada vez son mejores!

Mi personaje favorito es Seth Cohen, es tan mono y gracioso... Adam Brody es, en mi opinión, el que mejor actúa de la serie, porque Mischa Barton siempre tiene cara de "Soy la víctima de todo y odio a mi madre y soy muy guapa", y Benjamin McKenzie (que hace de Ryan Atwood) también era bastante malo actuando en la primera temporada, parecía que no podía mirar directamente a los ojos y su expresión era continuamente de "Soy una víctima también, sólo soy un chico de Chino que estaba en el lugar equivocado en el momento equivocado, y nunca me recuperaré de los problemas de mi familia". Summer (el personaje de Rachel Bilson) es mi segundo personaje favorito. Actúa muy bien ella también, así que la pareja Seth + Summe es perfecta!. Por lo que sé, Adam y Rachel son los únicos que están consiguiendo papeles importantes en películas, mientras que no he visto a Benjamin ni a Mischa en ninguna película últimamente, así que mi teoría se cumple.
Me encanta cuando Seth comete esos errores tan estúpidos, aunque luego acaba enfadando a Summer.

Hablando de estilo, dos iconos de moda a la hora de vestir vienen de esta serie: Mischa Barton y Rachel Bilson. Cuando Mischa estaba bajo el ala de Rachel Zoe, me encantaba todo lo que se ponía, desde las gafas de sol gigantes hasta las sandalias finísimas. Parecía que no se equivocaba nunca al elegir -más bien al simplemente coger- la ropa que llevaba. Solía ser de las mejores vestidas en todos los eventos que asistía.
Pero ahora... que vuelva Rachel Zoe! (bueno, si Zoe era la loca esa que les daba píldoras de caballo para adelgazar, simplemente que contrate a otra estilista!)

Así que por ahora, el estilo de Rachel Bilson me encanta. Es menos bohemia y siempre lleva ropa elegantísima que la hacen parecer más alta de lo que es. Eso es inteligencia!. Estoy haciendo un collage con sus greatest hits y lo postearé la semana que viene.

De momento disfrutad con esta editorial de Nylon Marzo 2008.
Rachel está más guapa que nunca y la ropa le sienta fenomenal, aunque ya estoy cansada de ver siempre los mismos conjuntos una y otra vez en todas las editoriales (el vestido de Luella, la falda de Miu Miu, la falda de Prada...)
