Things on my mind: "I'm not there" movie, and "Moose" magazine

I watched "I'm not there" at the cinema yesterday. I really liked it, even if I'm not an expert on Bob Dylan, I enjoyed the film. Nevertheless, if I had known more about Bob's life, I'd have understood more parts of the film, like the one with Richard Gère, which was so original and mysterious. Cate Blanchett was brilliant playing Bob, and Heath Ledger too. I loved the part with Christian Bale and Bob's problems with the press.

It is a film that makes you think about the personality (and personalities) of a person. How people can change with the time, but still remain the same, and how people often misinterpret the actions of a person. That phenomenon was portrayed in the film in an exquisite way: every actor played a different Bob, under a different name, but you could still see something in common between the six portrayals. I read this on IMDB: "The much more complex answer is that none of the people are Dylan, or, in a poetic sense, even people". Interesting, huh?

My favourite quote: Bob (in Cate Blanchett's part) is being surrounded by journalists and papparazzis. One of them asks him: "A word for your fans!" and he answers: "Astronaut!". It made me laugh.

Moose!

Moose is a magazine created by Marina Jamieson (model) and Rocío Mena. It is a place to read about beauty secrets, insider interviews, beautiful editorials... You can read it here.

There is a video directed by Vincent Lacrocq, starring Bárbara García. The cinematography is quite amazing. I like all the little details (the water drops, the sounds...)

Old school photographs I took in Madrid Fashion Week

I took these photos with a little Canon camera I found at home, hidden below tons of forgotten things. I bought film and decided to take the camera with me to Madrid Fashion Week along with the digital one. I wanted to take different photos. The camera is so basic that I can only choose between using flash or not. Yes, no zoom, no ISO, no nothing.

The results are quite different from what I had expected. Most of the pictures are out of focus. Anyway, I like the colours. There is something in classic photography that makes it slightly more artistic than digital photography, in my opinion.

---------------------

Me apetecía sacar fotos diferentes.

Stay tanned 365 days

Marina Pérez

I hate winter. Reasons:
  1. The days are shorter and everything is dark at 18:00 PM
  2. The weather is bad.
  3. I can't go to the beach or the swimming pool.
  4. My skin looks pale

I wish I looked tanned everyday. I look much better when my skin is darker. Even though it is not very healthy to sunbath a lot, sometimes it is good to get a little tan, using UV protection, of course.

So when I saw the make-up for the TCN show (I saw it backstage at Cibeles Madrid Fashion Week) I found the answer. Don't they look like they just spent a whole week sunbathing? It looks way better than the self-tanning creams. I might try it.

Life Backstage: Models and designers tell the truth. The Video

During Madrid Fashion Week my friend María (from The Garment District) and I made a video with models, designers and make-up artists interviews. We saw them everyday at backstage and we knew that they would be perfect for a friendly interview. It was very fun because we chose interesting questions and the models were very honest with their answers, you'll see. So if you want to know what's Daiane Conterato's favourite film, what does Marina Pérez have on her I-Pod, what's the most strange thing that has happened on the runway to Clara Alonso, what would Adrian Wlodarski (Prada model) take to a desert island with him and many more things, you know, just watch the video.

The video includes interviews shot at Madrid Fashion Week featuring Marina Pérez, Daiane Conterato, Danny Beauchamp, Marina Jamieson, Clara Alonso, Carla Crombie, Carlos Díez, Maike Lüdenbach, Iris Strubegger, Anna Tunhav, Arantxa Santamaría, Adrian Wlodarski and make-up artists.

Shopping coincidences

It is awful when you go to a party and find someone wearing the same thing you are wearing. When I was a kid, I thought that it was cool, like "hey, we have the same t-shirt!" and I didn't understand why people hated it so much. But now I hate it too.

Nevertheless, I love when I buy something and see that a model or a famous person has bought it too. Because of the internet, we know what every celebrity is wearing at the moment. If you think about it, it's strange, I mean, the Olsen have pictures of every outfit they have worn. So far, I haven't bought anything because I saw a celebrity wearing it. The reasons are different, maybe I knew where to buy it but: a) It was too expensive. b) I just forgot to buy it.

The fun thing is that lately I'm seeing everywhere the clothes I have. Some examples:

---------------------

I bought this amazing vest at Bershka (€19,95) about two weeks ago. It was love at first sight. It is made of a very soft fabric that looks like suede.

Then I was reading El Pais Semanal, when I saw this picture:

OMG! My vest! I loved seeing it on an editorial, it was great, I mean, the things I see featured on editorials are way too expensive for me to own them. The styling is very cool too, though I'm not very sure about pairing a denim jacket with jeans. What do you think? Is it ok wearing a denim jacket + jeans?

I have that denim jacket I bought some months ago at Zara, and I love how it looks with the vest:

You probably remember this vest too (everyone bought it, because I'm seeing people wearing it everywhere).

I bought at Zara it in July. And some weeks later I saw Alix (The Cherry Blossom Girl) wearing it:

I met Clara Alonso in Madrid Fashion Week, and I saw her wearing these Bershka denim leggings, which I had bought several months earlier (I made a post about them and you told me where to buy them). She said they are super comfortable, and she's right!

I don't have a photo, but I bought this cute dress Karlie Kloss is wearing at H&M last year. That same month I saw this picture of her wearing it.

A note:

You see Marina Jamieson's t-shirt? The girl on the photos is her! How cool is it? I love it!

Fashion Week Streetstyle by Miss at la Playa

streetstyle, cibeles, missatlaplaya, models

I don't usually take streetstyle pictures, but I like taking photographs of the nicest and funniest models. I don't do it to judge their style, or because I like what they are wearing, I just do it to have a photo of the people I've met. These are from Madrid Fashion Week.
