Primark F/W 2011 - Pieces that need to be on my wardrobe

primark

Thanks to the blog I go to many press presentations in which they showcase the new collections. I usually take photos, post some on the blog, and that's it. I fall in love with most of the clothes, hoping a high street label will be "inspired" by those designs and "reinterpret" them at affordable prices.

Nevertheless, I've lately had the chance to go to press days by labels whose prices are allowed in my budget and I've already put an eye on many outfits that I will probably buy next season. That's another problem, seeing the clothes four months before they arrive to the stores is an advantage, but it's not easy being patient until the clothes are available.

Another objection is that everything looks fantastic at the showrooms, but when you go to the store and it looks like a tornado just happened in there and people look like they're getting supplies for a zombie apocalypse, it's quite difficult remembering which was the skirt I was looking for. For this reason I'm making this series of posts in which I'll point out the lowcost and mediumcost (I just made up that word) labels' greatest hits. A wishlist for next season.

Today: Primark, a true lowcost label, but that every season translates the latest trends to really affordable prices. The collection was inspired by the sixties, with some parisian touches, very romantic, patterns based on vintage finds, great prints and some risky pieces (you'll see the raspberry red furry coat). I was really surprised at how I loved the new collection, I think I would buy everything! The best thing is that we actually can... ;)

The clothes will begin to arrive at the stores at the end of August.

This is the dress that conquered me. Could it be any cuter? Imposible.

In which country do people dress better?

Last time I was in Paris I saw that it's not a cliche: people there dress better. The city where boys dress the best is in London, and girls are more risky. In New York the style is a mix. But what do you think?

Anna Wintour's smile is like an eclipse: it only happens once in hundreds of years

Devil wears Prada
At the collection preview with Miranda Priestly
Nigel: There's a scale. One nod is good, two nods is very good. There's only be one actual smile on record and that was Tom Ford in 2001. If she doesn't like it she shakes her head. Then of course there's the pursing of the lips.
Andy Sachs: Which means?
Nigel: Catastrophe.

Anna Wintour smiles at these occasions: when sitting next to Karl Lagerfeld, when meeting Hugh Jackman, and when Roger Federer wins a set.

The preppy world by Tommy Hilfiger

tommy hilfiger preppy

As I told you a few posts back, Tommy Hilfiger has set up a extremely cute house in Plaza Felipe II (Madrid) in which they sell a special limited collection of preppy items. If you thought Tommy Hilfiger couldn't be more preppy, well, he can!

I visited the store this morning and I loved everything, from the cricket set to the striped jacket. You'll find fun accesories, such as bracelets made of rope, badminton rackets, magnets, and the official Preppy handbook. And of course, the clothes: lots of shirts, tops, jerseys, several dresses, high heels for sailing (girl sailors have the right to dress elegantly too)...

I spent almost half an hour taking pictures, because there were lots of cute things everywhere. Have a look! If you want to visit the store, you must hurry up, it'll be there until july 3th!

---------------
